Information we may receive
Depending on how you use the website, we may receive information such as your name, email address, phone number, donation reference, optional tribute or recognition choice, communication preference, payment status and feedback. Payment credentials such as card numbers, M-Pesa PINs, card PINs, PayPal passwords and OTPs are not collected by this website.
Payment information
Payments are handled through the official Jjuma and PayHero routes shown on this website. Payment-provider systems may process additional information under their own terms and privacy practices.
Forms and feedback
Donor feedback submitted through this website is received using Netlify Forms. If you give permission to be contacted, we may use the contact details you provide to follow up on your feedback.
AI customer-care chat
If you use Hope AI, your chat messages are sent from this website through a secure server-side connection to Google Gemini to generate a response. Google processes those messages under its Gemini API terms, and data handling can differ by service tier. Do not submit M-Pesa PINs, OTPs, passwords, full card details, medical records, identification documents or other highly sensitive information in the chat. Hope AI is an automated assistant and may make mistakes; transaction-specific, refund, safeguarding, legal or sensitive matters should be escalated to human customer care.
Privacy-conscious website analytics
We use first-party website analytics to understand anonymous traffic and improve the site. The analytics may record the page path without query details, an anonymous browser identifier, a temporary session identifier, device category, country code, referring website and selected actions such as opening a donation page or choosing a payment route.
The site analytics do not store names, email addresses, phone numbers, form text, AI messages, payment details or internet protocol addresses. Anonymous identifiers are not shown in the administrator dashboard. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected, and analytics records older than 90 days are removed during administrator reporting.

Sharing
We do not sell donor information. Information may be processed by service providers needed to run the website and payment flow, or disclosed when required by law.

Crowdfunding accounts and campaign data
Where the crowdfunding service is used, Hope Charities may process account email, contact details, county, application information, campaign story, campaign image, fundraising target, approval status and confirmed campaign donation totals. Campaign contact and payout details are kept private and are not intended for public display. Applicants should not submit national ID scans, medical records, payment PINs, OTPs, passwords or full card information through public forms.
